John 3: 31-36, is a summary of the message of the Gospel of John 3. The main ideas present Father as the source of Jesus’ revelation and Jesus as the way to have communion with the Father. Both the Christological and the Soteriological dimensions of faith are synthesized in the Johannine pattern. Jesus who came from the Father is the authentic and credible reveler of the Father. He comes from heaven and hence he reveals only heavenly things. Father has given all authority to the Son and hence whoever believes in the Son experiences eternal life, that is, communion with Father. To believe is equal to obey. So whoever does not obey the Son will be eschatologically disqualified.
